The Marantz 2270 was produced from 1972 to 1974 and is one of the most collected mid-power Marantz receivers. 70 W per channel into 8 ohms, walnut cabinet (sold separately at launch), backlit blue dial, dual tape monitor loops, and the build quality typical of pre-1976 Marantz before cost-cutting.
In 2026 a serviced 2270 sells for EUR 700-1100 depending on cabinet condition and lamp originality. Unserviced units trade significantly lower but virtually all will need recap and lamp replacement.

Three things drive value: cosmetics (faceplate scratches are common), lamp condition (originals are getting hard to source), and electrical service status. A fully recapped unit with cleaned switches is worth a premium and saves you EUR 200-400 of tech labour.
Listen for scratchy volume / balance pots and noisy switches on unserviced units - common and fixable but factor into the price. Avoid units listed "powers on but no sound" without an inspection.
